Where are you guys?
December 24th, 2010, 11:02pm by MikeI can’t believe I’m having to fly solo on this project! My aunt sent Adam a Little Tikes BBQ grill for Christmas, and Joanie, her sister Rowan, and I are putting it together. It just doesn’t feel right to be putting together a grill without you guys!
You may be entertained to know that we got the grill together in record time (for a pyslent grill-assembly team), about 15 minutes. You’ll see at the bottom that we were able to enjoy the fruits of our labor right in our living room!
The box. Instructions were inside, and weren’t lost throughout the assembly process.
Rowan and Joanie playing with fire (stickers).
Beer break!
The home stretch
Almost there!
Success! Enjoying some dogs and burgers! And ketchup.

Lucas has a BBQ, but it’s nowhere near as cool as that one. I’d say that BBQ is to Lucas’ BBQ as Derrick’s was to mine.
Nice to see Adam was there in spirit (the monitor). Hope he’s happy with what Santa brings him! Merry X-mas!

Yeah, Adam is going to be pretty disappointed when he compares this BBQ to our real one!
Adam woke up at 5am crying, and we got him back down, and he’s still asleep at 8:15! It was great until we were awakened by Joanie’ parents, who we’d told to come over early since we figured Adam would be up early. I guess it’s just not possible to sleep in on Christmas morning!
Have a good day everybody!

Adam is loving the grill so much that he took the ketchup bottle with him when he went down for a nap, ignoring his favorite stuffed animal cat. Likes ketchup more than cats, clearly he’s got his dad’s genes.

That’s very cool. Hopefully the instructions you were looking at weren’t in spanish this time. Brandon also loved his puny little BBQ set, but now it sits in the corner if the playroom and Tiffany has no idea what that odd contraption is. Never seen anything like it in real life – hopefully that’ll change this summer now that we’re out in the burbs.

Just noticed the BBQ. That’s the same one that my future step-father-in-law put together on the same night. I think you may have beaten him on the assembly time, though he was working solo. 🙂

I think it took me 15 minutes to figure out “step- father-in-law.” Got it now.
Adam loves the grill, but has no idea that it represents something in real life. It’s just a panel of doors, knobs, and plastic hamburgers to him.
