Testing Video

Just a quick test, to see if I can embed a video using WordPress tools. The code on YouTube didn’t seem to work. In all its cheesy glory, my first Palm Pre video.

Well, that didn’t work at all. Mike, can you take a look at this page, http://codex.wordpress.org/Embeds and see what happens when you change this setting, ‘(Check the “Auto-embeds” check box in Administration > Settings > Media SubPanel.) ‘ Thanks.

    The box was already checked. Let me try and see if it works:

    Well, it didn’t embed it, but it at least linkified it, which is more than it did in your post (for both the YouTube and WordPress links). Hmm.

    Maybe these embed shortcodes will work:

    [embed]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8sMvteXZmmU[/embed]

    How about from flickr, which is also supposed to auto-embed?

    Nope, didn’t work either. I give up, for now…

    @mike I’m pretty sure wordpress won’t do embedded videos (or images for that matter) in the body of a comment.
