Whendle
February 3rd, 2010, 3:21pm by KelvinToday’s webOS app of the day is Whendle, a world clock that offers much more. You click on the city list you generate and are presented with a nice-looking screen that shows the local time and cycles between the current weather, weather forecast, and locally uploaded photos. Not sure where they get the photos, but it’d be cool to see one of your own, serendipitously. Best of all, it’s free!

I’m kidding, I won’t actually be blogging about a WebOS app every day.

Oops, forgot to include San Diego in my gallery! Sorry Lance!

In the vein of crazy clocks that tell the weather on smartphones, I ordered a Kensington Nightstand Charging Cradle from buy.com yesterday. Check out the video on that page. In addition to an apparently unique “charging while you sleep!” function, it also comes with a free app that turns the whole thing into a replacement for your bedside alarm clock, and shows the local weather, too.
For $21, it’s cheaper than just buying another Apple adapter, and seemed kinda fun.

A clock and weather app, eh? That’s a good use case for background applications (at least the alarm clock function). Or would the cradle autolaunch the clock/weather app whenever you stuck it on the cradle?

downloaded Whendle. Sure was convenient that it comes with Sunnyvale pre-set as one of the cities.
