Test Post from Poster
February 1st, 2010, 12:17am by KelvinTook the plunge to set up Poster for Pre-posting to the Board while Lucas was going to sleep. Seems fairly full-featured… formatting, like bold and italics, seems to be supported, as is image uploading and links. Firing off a quick image post is still easier with Flickr, but blog authoring? Well, this seems like a fine option.
BTW, about the photo, Lucas was shirtless because he got pen marks on his shirt, but we had to cover him up because he was worried about being seen nude. Seems like he’s too young to be so self-conscious :(.

Did Poster resize the image? I see that it’s full-size when you click on it. I’m asking because WordPress has some weird image resizing stuff baked in, which I tried to turn off, since I figure we can choose what size to upload photos at.

I chose the in-post size (thumbnail).

Poster got an update yesterday that adds the option to edit the html of a post, which will be useful for moving link and image elements. Quite nice. Looking at the html, though, confirms what I’d suspected, that Poster resizes the photo display, but not the photo itself (ie, it doesn’t generate a thumbnail), which slows down pageloading for the Board.

Pretty much as expected for not generating actual thumbnails. But that doesn’t explain what Poster is doing when it claims to be “processing” images.

I think Poster is uploading the photo at that time.

You think? I always see “processing” in one step, then “uploading” after that.
