At Maruichi. Still trying to get my own. Excellent ramen here, by the way.

“Still trying to get my own” — you mean you’re trying to buy a Pre? Are they out of stock? They have them here — I went to the Sprint store on Tuesday, and they had a cabinet full. The woman in front of me bought one, and a case, and a Touchstone — they even had several Touchstones in stock. Want me to pick one up for you?
I’m withholding my opinion on the device since I had a bad experience with the store — the display model was playing a demo that I couldn’t figure out how to stop (despite mad flicking of the card off the screen), so I turned the handset off and back on. At which point the handset reactivated and locked itself, requiring a PIN, which I didn’t know, and as it turned out, neither did the Sprint store staff. So in my first experience with a Pre, I essentially bricked it!
They had another demo in a cabinet that they let me play with for a few minutes, but since it wasn’t locked down, they watched me like a hawk, standing about a foot away from me as I tried out some of the features, and giving me the sales pitch the whole time. And helpful tips like “To get rid of a card, just flick it off the screen.” Yes, I know, I read a 10,000 word review of this thing! It was really annoying, and I left after not playing with it too long.
My initial reactions — the keyboard is small but totally usable. My bigger beef was that the screen seemed awfully small to me. It seemed like either you had too much (and way too small) on the screen, or it was readable and too much scrolling was required. But again, this was “browsing under pressure” from the Sprint guy.

OMG, the demo running on the display units was so annoying! You’re right, it couldn’t be stopped with flicking off the card.
Anyway, I was at a store on Monday, and they didn’t have any available, but had a wait list of 100 people. They said to expect a few weeks. I’m not in any rush though, because I still have to make some modifications to my plan. Also, it doesn’t seem like my work’s exchange server is compatible at this point, which would be a deal breaker.

Well, you’re in no rush! I’m paying an extra $1/day for your hesitation.
BTW, I’m not even sure where they’re going to send my bill. I don’t think they ever asked for my address. If they send you the bill, just let me know.

I guess it doesn’t matter– I might as well switch us all over. No reason not to do it now if it’s inevitable, and it would mean that we’d get to use Sprint Navigation on my and Serena’s phones also :).

I’ll kick in an extra $10 to pay the month’s difference.
