Born to run!
March 14th, 2009, 6:51am by JakeIt’s some time before 4 AM and I’m waiting on the ferry in Marina del Rey as it prepares to motor us to the start of the Catalina Marathon in Two Harbors. It should be fun. And painful. I’m psyched.

It was a good race. I finished a little slower than expected, 4:42:23. Pics and details to follow. I was on track to run about 4:37 until my brain rebelled at mile 23/24 and told my legs to slow down! I had to slow down as my heart rate plummeted from 170 to 140 when it would have normally climbed to 180. Definitely low blood sugar or something– I ate about 4 oranges in 2 minutes after the race.
But it was a great race as always.

Looking forward to reading the full report! My dad said to tell you congrats, too — he was psyched to hear that you ran Catalina when I talked to him today.
