Missed another rocket launch

June 29th, 2003, 12:59am by Jake

Well, I was planning to watch the Delta II MER-B rocket launch tonight, but it was first delayed due to 1) winds blowing towards Miami, and 2) some bozo on a boat off the coast. There was another launch window at about 9:30, but the launch was scrubbed due to wind shear. You can read a play-by-play here.

SAME GREAT TASTE?! They change the formula for CheesePuffs (crunchier) & have the gall to think we won't notice? Its classic!

Well, I think Pyslent.com needs to generate some new revenue, and I’ve found the perfect solution. Read on to discover how the Pyslent team can relive the glory days of PayPal scam, free Palms from Citibank and DirecTiVo for $0.

Expected service outage

June 25th, 2003, 4:46pm by Mike

So our lab is moving next Tuesday and Wednesday, and it’s not clear yet what the situation will be in our new offices, but Pyslent will likely be down for at least a day or two. So write down all those posts on paper and post ’em later in the week!

iChat AV

June 24th, 2003, 11:38pm by Jake

OK, I just went ahead and bought the new Apple iSight Firewire webcam, sight unseen. Apple’s new iChat has got good reviews, with built-in Audio and Video (hence AV) capabilities. Mike & I are trying it out now. I’m installing it 1st, since Mike has slightly more mission critical data. I’ll let you know how it goes. Gotta reboot now.

Happy 30th Birthday

June 21st, 2003, 2:46pm by Kelvin

The rest of the gang wanted to wish Mike and Joanie happy 30th birthdays! We hope the party is going well and wish we could be there. Mike, you have got to get a camera phone so we could stay updated on the festivities!
Anyway, we all chipped in and got you guys a little something. We know that this will appeal more to one of you than the other, but we hope that it will be fun. Hope you don’t have plans for Wed Aug 13!
(the actual tickets are coming via email; isn’t technology great?)

TiVo feature to enter real world?

June 21st, 2003, 1:16am by Jake

Ever wish you could see an instant replay in real life? Well, I saw this on Gizmodo, & it’s sounds like it could be kinda like the 8-second jumpback button on TiVo.

Treo 600 news

June 20th, 2003, 12:05pm by Mike

The Treo 600 looks great — like a real phone, not like holding a Palm to your head and talking. It’s even being cited by Wired as a reason that Palm bought Handspring. A CNet story has a link to a video which I haven’t seen yet. The only downside from what I’ve read so far is that it doesn’t have Bluetooth (but it has an SD slot…). Supposedly it’ll have both CDMA (Sprint) and GSM (Orange) models.

Should be working now

The symbolic link is in place, and it seems that things are working. I can now see Kelvin’s rooftop picture at http://www.pyslent.com.
